Highlights from a wonderful year

Hi friends!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are still enjoying this special time of year!

Thank YOU for following along during 2011!
It has been a GREAT year for me; personally and professionally.
Daydream Believers is truly my creative dream come true!

I love being a part of this fabulous bloggy community!
It means SO much to me that ya’ll follow along!
I had a blast looking back on the posts from this past year!
The top 5 posts {according to Google Analytics} are -

#5 Sweet as Can Bee Baby Shower

#4 Toddler Apron Tutorial

#3 The Ultimate Little Girls’ Party Skirt

#2 Ice Cream Social Birthday Party

#1 Ruffle Bloomer Tutorial

In addition to some exciting Blog features, 2011 brought (rapid) growth to the Daydream Believers shop!
I made the move from Etsy to a new storefront at Big Cartel, and switched from fulfilling orders on a made-to-order basis; to creating full ready-to-ship collections! Designing for your sweet kids brings me such JOY!
I have some GREAT pieces all ready for release and more sketches just waiting to “come alive” in 2012!
I look forward to sharing them all with you!

As you may know, Daydream Believers started from my desire to create unique, one of a kind pieces of children’s clothing. In 2011, I had the privilege of creating MANY special OOAKS for some extra special kids! These pieces are always so much fun for me to work on!
Here are just a few of the “Customs” I created this year -

*Custom Design Spots for 2012 are still available!*
In order to give each piece my fullest attention, I limit the number of “customs” that I take on each month.
To reserve a spot and have a custom piece created for your sweetie – contact me today!

In 2011, I also (ahem, finally) started a Facebook page – and I began the Daydream Believer Project as a means to work together with all of you to collaboratively spread kindness and ultimately change the world!
I am so excited to do even more in 2012!

Thank You! Thank You! THANK YOU! For following along and supporting this lil’ daydreamer!

Happy New Year to you and yours!
I hope 2012 is a blessed year for us all!

I like that you included your daughters in the decision. I would give this to my 8 year old niece who loves legwarmers because of the variety of colors they come in. She likes to wear a hodge podge of colors everyday. She's very stylish in a non-matching way!

Hello to everyone visiting from Sew Mama Sews’ Giveaway Day!
I {heart} giveaway day and am so happy to be participating today!

If you’re new here, Daydream Believers is my dream-come-true creative place! This blog is where I share crafty inspirations, diy tutorials, charitable opportunities and the latest in Daydream Believer Shop news!
I am a lover of all things creative! I am living a truly blessed life with my sweet husband and wonderful family. With two little girlies and a mumma who loves to create; our house is a haven for all things sparkly and fun! I started sewing professionally after my daughters were born.  My girls (like all children) are so unique and wonderful, they deserve to wear clothes that are as special and original as they are! Unable to find the type of children's clothing I was looking for in stores, I started making my own. In 2010, after lots of nudging from my hubs and family, I opened the Daydream Believers shop!
I believe life should be celebrated! Your child's clothes should be a reflection of their personalities; unique, original, wonderful! My design aesthetic combines classic, vintage styles with fresh, modern fabrics. I am THRILLED to be able to offer your child the high quality, handmade goodies that my own daughters LOVE!

For today’s giveaway, I let each of my daughters chose one item to giveaway!
So, one lucky winner will receive a  Queen BEE Style tutu (in your choice of color/colors!) the original queen bee tutu by daydream believers
*and* a fabulous pair of matching ruffle leg warmers!

Daydream Believers is being featured

What a wonderful way to start the day; Daydream Believers is being featured on Captured by Jes today!
Jes is a very talented photographer and her beautiful daughter, E, is a natural model! If you’re a long time follower of Daydream Believers, you may recognize E* as she has graced this blog many times!

I have the pleasure of knowing Jes and E* in real life; besides my own girls, Miss E was the first Daydream Believers spokes model! She will always hold a special place in my heart, as she was also my first paying customer! I love this sweet picture of itty bitty E* rockin’ the stage in her first DB custom tutu!

Handmade Gift Exchange

I am a longtime follower (and Big Fan) of Craftaholics Anonymous – so this year I decided to join in on Linda’s 5th Handmade Gift Exchange! I just love the whole concept of the Handmade Gift Exchange!
I enjoyed “meeting” my partner, Kari, and creating something special for her!

I made Kari this fun, ruffle shopping tote and filled it with some Christmas shopping essentials; holiday shopping pad, gingerbread cookie pen, and snowman hand sanitizer! ;)

I was thrilled when I received the awesome gift she created for me! :)
This lovely set of burlap pillow covers, which read “Comfort & joy” – Seriously, aren’t they awesome?
They compliment my holiday decorations perfectly!  :)nove11 001

Funny thing is, I had full intentions of making nearly these exact pillow covers myself this year; I still can’t believe my good luck, that my talented partner would make the perfect gift for me! :) THANKS KARI!

But wait!
The Handmade Gift Exchange fun isn’t over yet! There is a great linky-party happening now at  Craftaholics Anonymous  where everyone can share the gifts they made/received and check out the fun gifts that all the other participants exchanged too! I encourage you to head on over and check out the Handmade Gift Exchange, so you can see all the amazing gifts people have made for each other.

BIG Thanks to Linda at  Craftaholics Anonymous  for organizing this event, and to my very talented partner Kari – I love my new pillow covers! :) THANKS friend!
